Forward to a Colleague

With January and the Super Bowl now in the past, Mulholland Investigation is interested in alerting our clients and colleagues to changes that may affect the manner in which cases are investigated in the future. Of specific interest are changes in the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) regarding Electronically Stored Information (ESI). The changes specify that opposing parties meet early to discuss matters pertaining to ESI. Our feature article provides a synopsis of the principal amendments that took effect at the end of 2006.

There are many technical issues involved in electronic discovery that may have significant ramifications, if not properly addressed at the onset. Robert Jones, the Director of Mulholland Investigation’s Computer Forensic Division, is an expert on data collection and e-discovery issues. He is available to consult with our clients regarding pitfalls to avoid regarding Electronically Stored Information. One of Robert’s strongest attributes is his ability to reduce technological jargon to laypersons' terms. Robert is highlighted in our “Meet The Mulholland Team” section and you will see by his background that he brings extensive expertise to his position.

In an effort to maintain proficiency and competence with the ESI issues, Robert & I traveled to New York for the Legal Tech conference. Several informative seminars were attended, as well as an opportunity to meet with exhibitors displaying some of the latest advances regarding ESI. As it was Robert’s first visit to New York, some sight-seeing was in order, even with temperatures in the 20s.

Many clients have availed themselves of the Mulholland Investigation seminar “An Introduction to Computer Forensics.” This course is approved for Continuing Education credit by the Florida Bar and the Florida Department of Insurance. The seminar is offered in a one-hour or two-hour format. Please contact Diana Newlyn if you are interested in scheduling a seminar.

We look forward to assisting you in any way, either through consulting on best practices for electronic discovery procedures, providing continuing education on the latest in computer forensic technology or conducting forensic and other types of investigations.  Thank you to those who have confidence in the professional service we provide.

Respectfully,

Sean Mulholland
